Salt Springs

Salt Springs Reservoir is located in Copperopolis and is a beautiful small lake that offers anglers a choice of Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Catfish, and Bluegill.  The current lake record Largemouth Bass weighs 12.60 lbs and was caught by Local Pro, Deacon Fernandes.  Many local Bass Clubs fish club tournaments at Salt Springs.  Bass fishing can be very productive for anglers, try throwing top water baits around submerged weeds, or throw plastic baits near structure.  Look for rocky shorelines and throw jigs, crankbaits and spinnerbaits for the chance of catching a big bass.  For crappie, try throwing Crappie Jigs throughout the lake, when you locate the fish, you'll be in for a great time!  All bass are catch and release.  All other species may be taken according to Department of Fish & Game  laws.  All boats must be off the water before dark.  Salt Springs Reservoir offers 25 campsites.  There is a store and a launch ramp available.  Sites are available first come first serve.  This is a great quiet place to take the family.
