Lake Pardee

Pardee Lake is located 38 miles northeast of Stockton on the Mokelumne River.  Rainbow Trout, Kokanee Salmon, Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, Catfish, Crappie and other Panfish make Lake Pardee the wonderful fishery that it is.  Most of the anglers that visit Lake Pardee fish for Rainbow Trout, both from shore and from boats. 1½ to 5 pound Rainbow Trout are stocked regularly.  Some by the Department of Fish and Game, but over 90% by the concessionaire.  This is made possible by using the Fishing Access Permit funds.  100% of the access permit funds are used to re-stock the lake with fish. Pardee pioneered this program in 1975 and many others use this system now.

Shore anglers should  try throwing Powerbait and Salmon eggs in the recreation area while trollers should concentrate in the narrows.  Spinners and shad imitation lures work best.  Kokanee Fishermen should try trolling upriver using dodgers and spinners tipped with Shoepeg corn. 

Fishing for Smallmouth Bass at Pardee is awesome, try throwing clown colored rip baits or swimbaits near spawning areas for a chance to catch a Smallmouth Bass over five pounds.  Throw swimbaits, jigs, and spinnerbaits for Largemouth Bass.  Main lake points and the shoreline upriver hold a good population of Big Bass.  Panfish anglers should throw small tubes and spinners near rocky shorlines and deep points.  Shorelines offer a full range of fishing structures which include points, rock outcroppings, slides, and drop offs. The depth of water (to over 300 feet) supports a great year-round fishery.  The ten lane boat launch ramp is a real convenience for easy launching and exiting.  A state of the art fish cleaning station is available as well as boat rentals.

Lake Pardee Camping

Pardee Lake Recreation boasts a total of 141 beautiful, oak studded campsites located within two separate campgrounds within its boundaries. Campsites offer plenty of shade, are clean, and each contain a picnic table and fire ring. Clean portable toilets are within a short walking distance. In each campground, running water is close to or right next to a site. Trash containers are emptied 7 days a week. Two ADA designed handicap sites are also available for our disabled visitors.  Lakeview Campground is within walking distance to most facilities. Hot showers, flush restrooms and laundry facilities are located near the main parking lot in the Recreation Area.  The Oaks Campground is a little more secluded.  Camp sites can be reserved in advance in accordance with the Reservation Policies and Procedures or pay your fees upon entering the main gate and choose any available site.  There is a two week maximum stay in the campsites.  A maximum of 8 people and two vehicles are permitted per site.
