Lake McSwain

Lake McSwain is a small body of water with mainly Rainbow Trout as the target species.  During the Winter months, the Calaveras Trout Farm stocks Rainbows from one and a half pounds to six pounds on a weekly basis.  The Department of Fish & Game also plants catchable size Rainbows into McSwain.  There are Spotted Bass in Lake McSwain,  finding deeper water is the key to catching them.  Your basic Bass set ups such as plastic baits and jigs will produce.

Lake McSwain has a total of 112 camp sites.  66 with electric hookups, and 46 tent sites that include running water, bathrooms, showers, picnic area, marina, restaurant, and boat rentals.   There is also a marina with boat rentals and a restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch.  Marina hours during the Winter are Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 PM.  Weekends from 7:00 am - 5:00 PM.

You can make a reservation by calling 1-800-468-8889.  Reservations are taken Tuesday - Friday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
